Jewel Tones Making a Comeback in 2018

December 29, 2017
By Barbara Musial, Licensed Interior Designer, Boca Raton Showroom

The revival of the dark hues and jewel tones, which were once very popular in the '90s, will be very prevalent in the up & coming year.

PANTONE
Pantone named ultra violet #18-3838 color of the year for 2018.
This regal shade of purple screams “sensual" while it expresses spirituality and wealth. Use this power color in the next room you decide to make over and consider it a great option for a bedroom!

BENJAMIN MOORE

The color of the year chosen from Benjamin Moore is a very lively shade of red called Caliente. It has been designed to stand out! By applying this color to an accent wall in a modern kitchen will not only create an intense energy within the room, but will also enhance the appetite.

SHERWIN WILLIAMS

Oceanside SW #6496 by Sherwin Williams offers a perfect marriage between a deep shade of blue and vibrant green. This marine inspired color works with any style home and can really make a rich statement when used with white fabrics and rugs that are paired with warm brown wood tones.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN
These jewel
tones are quite stunning on their own, however, part of this trend is to combine them within a space. A good example of this can be seen with accent pillows or on a painted bookcase. Use one jewel tone on the outside area and a secondary tone on the inside shelving area.
