Holidays Alfresco: Drink Tables for the Season

Floridians wear boots because they’re fashionable, faux fur because we cherish the animal kingdom, and cashmere because it breathes in our oh-so-temperate climate. So too, we are apt to Florida-ize seasonal traditions. We stuff the turkey, spin the dreidel, trim the tree, and celebrate the season, all with a decidedly Florida vibe. First and foremost, we take holiday entertaining outside.

What’s on my alfresco decorating list this season? Some swell new drink tables just arrived at Robb & Stucky. Crafted in glazed porcelain, these all-weather tables cater to just about every holiday party.

Square, oval, round, octagonal, accordion or lantern shape, the spot table surface is perfectly sized for a cocktail or two. In fact, these little gems are often called drink tables.

With holiday revelers milling about, extra seating can be an issue. No worries. Reposition your cranberry martini first, and then take a seat – the spot table becomes your perch. If the party moves to the other side of the fire pit, so does your new BFF.

Spot table, drink table, stool, pedestal … you’ll see these versatile, high-functioning decorating “ornaments” in sundry shades of green – from turquoise to celadon to sage – throughout Robb & Stucky stores.

Naturally, you can always expect more from Robb & Stucky. Drink tables are all the rage. For more conventional – but never predictable – indoor use, our buyers have shopped the world to bring you the best of this new trend.

My personal favorites include Stanley Furniture’s Sol Playa (the ornate pedestal looks like the stem of a wine glass), Thom Filicia’s loopty loo Solvay, and the bracelet-like Leonora from World’s Away - swanky.

Can’t decide? Colorful alfresco table-benches? Or the various wood, glass and metal drink table choices for interiors? Well, just mix, match and decorate. Indulge. This is an exceptional time when you simply can’t have one too many.
